What is Severe Duty?

A Severe Duty truck is a medium-duty truck converted to a single rear wheel while maintaining all OEM payload and towing capacities.

At SevereDuty.ca, we like to say that once you have a Severe Duty truck, you will possess the most capable vehicle to meet all your needs. The medium-duty truck platform is the go-to choice for anyone looking to utilize their truck as a true workhorse. However, there is one major drawback: they often have terrible off-road ability due to the rear dual tires. These narrow tires lack the tread necessary for off-road conditions, can’t be aired down for increased traction, often get rocks and mud stuck between them, and struggle on wet grass.

That is why the Severe Duty conversion was created. Starting with a truck that has best-in-class payload and towing capacity, converting it to a single rear wheel gives you the most capable vehicle to fit all your needs. Liquid spring

Liquid Spring’s system(https://liquidspring.com/about-us/our-technology/) uses a single compressible-fluid hydraulic strut at each wheel plus an onboard microprocessor that samples vehicle inputs (speed, steering, braking, ride height) adjusting spring rate and damping at each corner in real time.

The strut both supports load and damps vibration, and because each corner is independently softened or stiffened to match road and driving conditions, the system isolates passengers from bumps while maintaining body control in turns and during emergency maneuvers. Overall, producing a smoother, more stable, and safer ride than conventional steel springs or passive air suspensions. Its precise, load‑adaptive behavior and high off‑road articulation make it ideal for overlanding vehicles.

This is our lighter weight wheel for 7000 pound capacity applications that are not running the full weight capacity of the truck. They provide a Forged Aluminum 2-Piece wheel for most applications and easy to install and uninstall yourself or at a truck stop. These give you the military look you want and a lighter weight shell to get the job done.

Steering Stabilizer

Enhance the handling of your 2017-2025 Ford F450 and F550 Super Duty 4WD by installing a BDS dual steering stabilizer mounting kit along with FOX 2.0 Performance Series shocks.

Installing larger tires can exert additional force on your truck’s suspension, but steering stabilizer shocks can effectively reduce bump steer and steering wheel feedback. BDS mounting brackets are constructed of high-strength steel and can be easily bolted on.
